Jordan Henderson is ready to give Liverpool millions to spend on new players.

Jordan Henderson’s 12-year stay at Anfield appears to be edging towards its end.

The 33-year-old Liverpool skipper has been at the centre of a transfer saga over the past 10 days or so as Reds legend Steven Gerrard, now manager of Saudi Arabian side Al-Ettifaq, has sought to bring him to the Middle East

The England international, who has lifted the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, League Cup, FIFA Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup during his time at Liverpool, was reported to have been offered an eye-watering £700,000 per week (more recent reports have lowered that to around £350,000 tax free) by Ettifaq to be their marquee signing at a time when the Saudi Pro League is making an almighty push to be recognised on the world stage through the acquisition of household European football names for big money.

The deal is not there yet but a major step in making that happen was achieved on Wednesday when it emerged that Liverpool had accepted a £12m deal plus add-ons for Henderson, who has two years left on his two-year deal at Anfield.
