Five years of Alisson Becker: Trophies, big saves and that unforgettable header

Alisson Becker raises his fist in celebration during a Liverpool match

With today the fifth anniversary of Alisson Becker's arrival at Liverpool, we take a statistical look back on a remarkable half-decade for the Brazilian at the club.

Signed from AS Roma in the summer of 2018, Alisson has gone on to play an integral part in the successes the Reds have achieved under Jürgen Klopp - including Champions League and Premier League honours.

His phenomenal record between the posts shows a century of clean sheets for the club in 231 appearances, with the milestone 100th registered when Brentford were beaten 1-0 at Anfield in May.

"This is not only a number of myself," he insisted modestly after that game. "It's from all the boys, from all the staff, goalkeeping coach department, everybody. We work together with a common goal and a clean sheet is a common goal of ourselves."

Only six men have ever kept more shutouts for the club, and Alisson will bypass David James soon enough as the No.1 from the 1990s is now only one ahead of him.

And on a clean sheet against appearances basis, only Ray Clemence (48.6 per cent) and Pepe Reina (44.9 per cent) are in front of Alisson (43.7 per cent).

In the Premier League's total clean sheet standings, the 30-year-old is already ranked 24th with 78, and he will be seeking to increase his tally and climb that list in the new season. His clean sheet percentage of 45.1 ranks him fourth among the top 25 goalkeepers for shutout total.

Two of Alisson's five seasons on Merseyside so far have ended with him collecting the division's Golden Glove award, doing so courtesy of 21 clean sheets in 2018-19 and 20 during 2021-22.

Between those individual accolades, of course, was the collective triumph of winning Liverpool's first league title for 30 years in 2019-20 - with the stopper's contribution involving 13 shutouts and an assist.
